Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1780.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with pierced fretwork, and three brass ball-and-spire finials on plinths, arched sidelights, free-standing fluted columns with brass capitals and bases at the front corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top, fluted quarter columns with brass capitals and bases at the front corners, and a rectangular case door with an inlaid panel. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, an inlaid base panel with concave corners and an inlaid oval at the center, a shaped skirt, and supported on French bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, and an applied silent/strike selector in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is a seconds dial and a calendar aperture. Eight day movement.
